insurance questions about items destroyed in a fire?
I live in Wisconsin – there was a fire at my Mother In Laws house in Texas where the workshop and shed and automobiles were destroyed but thankfully the fire was put out by firefighters before the house was destroyed – I had some of my belongingings in storage there – is there any claim that I can make or she can make on any items that may have belonged to me?
Her policy may allow limited coverage for the items. My companies policy gives $500 for property of others in your (mom’s) care, custody or control.
If you have a home owners policy, most likely it will allow 10% of your coverage C amount for property away from the resident premises. But your deductible will apply.
